A. Scheme of Examination:
The examination will be held in three successive stages
1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
2. Final Examination (Conventional Type)
3. Personality Test
WBPSC Miscellaneous Preliminary Exam Pattern
>> Question will be Objective Type
>> Total Marks 200
>> Exam Duration 1½ Hours
The examination will consist of only one paper containing 100 Multiple choice objective type questions carrying 2 marks each on General Studies (150 Marks) and Arithmetic (50 marks) and having 1½ hours duration. The Preliminary Examination will be a screening test for selection of candidates for admission to the Final Examination.
WBPSC Miscellaneous Final Exam Syllabus & Pattern 2019
>> Questions will be Conventional type
>> Total Marks 450
>> Paper I & II will be 150 Marks & 1½ hours
>> Paper III will be 150 Marks & 2½ hours
>> Question will be in English, Bengali or in Nepali language
>> The exam of all the three papers will be held on the same day.
The exam will consist of three papers of Conventional type questions, namely Paper I: English, Paper II: Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali, Paper III: General Studies & Arithmetic. Full marks and time for Paper III will be 150 [100 Marks for General Studies (Group A] and 50 marks for Arithmetic (Group B)], the to total time being 2½ hours.
Personality Test: 100 Marks
A limited number of candidates selected merit-wise on the results of the Final Examination will be called to the Personality Test.

a. Drafting of a report from points or materials supplied
b. Translation from Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali to English

d. Correct use of words, correction of sentences, use of common phrases, synonyms and antonyms etc.
Paper II: Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali (Final Examination)
a. Drafting of a report from points or materials supplied
b. Translation from Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali
c. Condensing of a prose passage
d. Grammar
>> Paper I & II of the Final Examination will be of Higher Secondary (10+2) Exam Standard of the WBCHSE.

<< English >> Fundamentals of the English language as Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage etc.
<< General Studies >> Matters of everyday observation including everyday science, current events and problems with special reference to India and elementary knowledge of Indian History and Indian Geography.
Arithmetic >> Divisibility, fractions, decimals, recurring decimals, simplification, HCF, LCM, Partnership, Average, Ratio and proportions, percentage, simple interest, profit & loss, time & distance, area of rectangles and squares.
Part-II:
>> Group-AÂ (English):
(i) Drafting of a report in English from points or materials supplied;
(ii) Condensing of a prose passage (Summary/Precis);
(iii) Translation from Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali, as the case may be, into English.

Details About WBPSC Judicial Service Preliminary Exam Pattern 2018
The Preliminary Examination will consist of one paper of Objective Type containing 200 Multiple Choice Questions. The paper will carry 200 marks and will be of 2(Two) and Half an Hours duration. The standard of the paper will be of the level of Knowledge as expected of a graduate in law of a recognized University. The paper will include questions covering the following fields of Knowledge:
