About Visva Bharati University:
Visva Bharati University is a public Central Government funded University located in Santiniketan, West Bengal. It was founded by Rabindranath Tagore who called it Visva Bharati, which means the communion of the world with India. In its initial years, Tagore expressed his dissatisfaction with the word ‘university’ since university translates to Visva-Vidyalaya, which is smaller in scope than Visva Bharati. Until independence, it was a college. Soon after independence, in 1951, the institution was given the status of a university and was renamed Visva Bharati University.

For B.A Honors: Bengali, English, Hindi, Oriya, Philosophy, Comparative Religion, Economics, History, A.I.H.C. & A. & Geography.
For B.Sc Honors: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Statistics and Computer Science.
For B.A & B.Sc Honors: Passed Higher Secondary Examination under 10+2 pattern or its equivalent, subject to fulfillment of the requirements for subject combinations and marks in respect of the department concerned. For more information refer official notification.
About Merit List:
Merit list for admission to various undergraduate courses will be made based on
the results of 10+2 or equivalent examination.
Application Fee:
Application fee for the first subject is Rs.150/- for SC / ST / PWD candidates and Rs.500/- for all other candidates. For each additional subject an additional application fee of Rs. 75/- for SC / ST / PWD candidates and Rs. 200/- for all other candidates.
Reservation of Seats:
Reservation of seats for SC / ST / OBC / Differently able candidates shall be as per GOI rules as applicable at the time of admission. The Differently able ( PWD ) candidates with not less than 40% disability shall be given a relaxation in the minimum eligibility in the qualifying examination of 5%.
