Eligibility Criteria for Viharilal College for Home and Social Science Kolkata UG Part I Admission 2024-25
Educational Qualification
Candidates who have passed H.S. or (10+2) level examination from a recognized Board/Council not earlier than 2016 are eligible to apply for the mentioned courses. Candidates have to pass English as a subject with full marks of 100. For Admission to the Food & Nutrition Hons. Course 505 marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination. For admission to the Human Development Hons. Course 50% marks in aggregate.
For 3 Years B.Sc. (Hons) in Food & Nutrition
a) At least 50% marks in aggregate at (10+2) level and
b) At least 45% marks in Chemistry.
For Tears B.Sc. (Hons.) in Human Development
a) At least 50% marks in aggregate at (10+2) level and
b) Related subject combination at HS level should be Sociology/ Psychology/ Education/ Home management/ Physics & Chemistry/ Chemistry & Biology.
For SC/ST/PC Candidate: Eligibility to apply for SC/ST/PC candidates in both Hons. Courses are 40% marks in (10+2).
Application Fee
Candidates should have to pay the application fee of Rs.100/- for General Candidates and Rs.50/- for SC/ST/PC candidates online using Credit Card/ Debit Card or Net Banking. The application fee can be paid through State Bank Collect Online Banking from anywhere.

Selection Procedure & Admission Rules
Selection of candidates applied for the Home Science course will be made in order of merit on the basis of total marks obtained of the best four subjects in 10+2 examination and for admission to B.Sc. Human Development Hons. course the merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained of the best four subjects other than EVS in 10+2 examination. For admission to B.Sc. Food & Nutrition Hons. course the merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks of the best four subjects along with the marks obtained in chemistry paper other than EVS in 10+2 examination. In each case marks obtained in EVS will not be considered for preparation of the merit list. List of the selected students will be put up on the notice board of Home Science, 20B Judges Court Road, Alipore, Kolkata – 27 in due course and no intimation will be sent to any individual students.
