Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Scholarship 2020 for ST Students: Government of India, Ministry of Tribal Affairs has organized the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Scholarship Scheme (Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of National Fellowship) for Schedule Tribe students. The Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship are provided to ST students to take up higher studies after completing Post Graduation, such as M.Phil and Ph.D. courses and awarded on the lines of UGC Fellowships for research students pursuing such courses on a regular and full-time basis. About RGNF Scholarship for ST Students
The Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) scheme for Scheduled Tribes has been renamed as National Fellowship for Higher Education of ST Students and is formulated and funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The scheme is open to candidates who belong to Schedule Tribe and are pursuing higher studies such as regular and full-time P.Phil and Ph.D. degree in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology. There are 750 slots for Schedule Tribe candidates every year for all the subjects.
At present two Central Sector Scholarship Schemes of Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) for ST students and Top Class Education for ST Students are implemented by this Ministry to provide financial assistance for pursuing higher education of ST students.
Objective of Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Scholarship 2020
The objective of the scheme is to encourage the SC students, a section of society with the lowest literacy levels in the country, to acquire the higher education in the form of (a) fellowships to pursue M.Phil and Ph.D. courses, with a view to creating a pool among them qualified to hold posts of teachers / professionals and other higher stages of employment and (b) pursue Graduate and Post Graduate studies with scholarship in Top Class Institutions of National repute.

7. Facilitates faster online application, processing, and disbursement.
8. Better Management and avoids duplication of efforts.
9. Provision for funds and for management, Monitoring, and Evaluation.
Eligibility for Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Scholarship 2020
The Fellowship/ Scholarship will be available only to the ST candidates who fulfill the following conditions for the award:
1. The candidate belonging to ST should have passed the Post-Graduation examination for being eligible for the Fellowship.
2. The SC students once considered eligible for the Fellowship shall not be entitled to any other scholarship of the Centre or State Government the same study.
3. The fellowship shall be payable once the student has secured admission and started the research work.
4. In order to qualify for Senior Research Fellowship, a candidates will have to fulfill the UGC/ICAR norms prescribed in this regard.
Scholarship
a. ST students who have secured admission in the notified Institutions according to the norms prescribed by the respective Institutions will be eligible for the scholarship under the scheme.
b. The total family income of the candidate to be eligible for this scholarship from all sources should not exceed Rs.4.50 lakh per annum.
c. The scholarship will become payable immediately after a student has secured admission and has started attending the classes.
d. The scholarship awarded, will continue until the completion of the course, subject to satisfactory performance of the students.

1. At first, candidates should go scholarships.gov.in
2. national Scholarship Portal home page will appear on screen
2. Follow the Central Schemes i.e. Ministry of Tribal Affairs – National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST students – Scholarship (Formally Top Class Education For Schedule Tribe Students).
3. Click on Apply button
4. Next candidates need to enter Application Id & password and click Login button
5. After that candidate should fill the application form correctly.
