NSIGSE Scholarship 2020: All the District Educational Officers in the State are informed that National Scheme of Incentives to Girls for Secondary Education is being implemented to promote enrollment of girl child the age group of 14-18 at secondary stage, especially those who passed Class VIII and to encourage secondary education of such girls, by the Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
National Scheme of Incentives to Girls for Secondary Education is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme with the objective to establish an enabling environment to reduce the drop-outs and to promote the enrollment of girl children, mainly belonging to SC/ST communities, in secondary schools. Additional information regarding Scheme Covers, Eligibility Criteria, Application Procedure are mention below in the following paragraph.
The National Scheme Covers:
1. All girls belonging to SC/ST communities who pass class VIII and
2. All girls who pass VIII examination from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (irrespective of whether they belong to SC/ST) and enroll in class IX in State Government, Government-aided, and Local Body schools.
> To be eligible for the benefit under the scheme the girl should be unmarried and should be below 16 years of age (as on 31st March) on joining class IX.
National Scheme of Incentives to Girls for Secondary Education
A sum of Rs.3,000/- is deposited in the name of eligible girls as fixed deposit. The girls are entitled to withdraw the sum along with interest thereon passing X Class and attaining 18 years of age. The proposals/list of beneficiaries for the academic year 2019 is required to be submitted/ uploaded online over National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
NSIGSE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
1. Girl students who passed class VIII examination from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (irrespective of whether they belong to SC/ST) and enroll in class IX in State Government, Government-aided, and Local Body schools.
2. All SC/ST girls who pass class VIII from all other Government Management schools
3. Girls Should be below 16 years of age (as on 31st March) on joining class IX.
How to Apply for NSIGSE Scholarship 2020
The application format has been made available to District Education Officers/ Principals of the Schools in hard copy. It can also be downloaded from National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in) by the District Education Officer. The format can be filled up by the students/ school in excel sheet. The information of all the students of a school will be compiled in excel sheet and verified by the Principal of the school, which will then be sent to District Education Officers either through the mail or in Hard Copy(CD). The application process is given below in following steps:
1. School verification by Principal of the school (offline excel sheet) and submission to District Education Officer
2. District level uploading/ verification by District Education Officer
3. State level verification by State Nodal Officer and submission of a list of beneficiaries/ proposal of the State over Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) on NSP.
Last Date for Fresh and Renewal Application Registration/Submission for all Scholarship Schemes (Pre Matric/ Post Matric/ MCM/ Top Class) has been extended upto 31st October, 2017.
