About Mirik College:
Mirik College is established in 2000. It is a Government-run Degree College in Mirik, Darjeeling, India. It offers Undergraduate Courses in Arts. It is affiliated to the University of North Bengal. The college has at present, more than 600 students, seven regular & eleven contractual Professors of which two hold Ph.D. Degrees & one M.Phil, there are eight regular & one contractual non-teaching staff members. The college offers Honours in English, Nepali, Geography, Political Science & History along with the BA General Course. The apart the college also hosts an IGNOU special study-center for continuing education through the distance mode.

Educational Qualification:
Students who have passed the HS (10+2) or equivalent examinations from any recognized board are eligible for getting admission in any Degree Course subject to availability of seats in the General stream. Candidates passing HS Vocational Course can apply for admission in the 1st-year General Course of BA. Students passed Patrachar / correspondence courses / Open School are not eligible for admission to the courses offered by the college. Eligibility Criteria for Hons under the NBU 2018-19:
For General Category of Students:
a. 55% in the aggregate or
b. 50% in the aggregate & 60% in the subject.
For Reserve Category of Students:
a. 50% in the aggregate or
b. 45% in the aggregate & 60% in the subject.

Merit calculation for Honours Course: Merit Point = 2S+T/6, 2S = Marks obtained in the subject opted for Hons x 2, T = English Marks + Marks obtained in the subject opted for Hons + Best Marks of only other two subjects (excluding the marks secured in Environmental Studies/Science/Education & Marks obtained in the subject opted for Hons).
Example = Merit = 2×60 (Hons subject) + 65 (English) + 60 (Hons subject) + 70 + 75 (Best two subjects) = 2×60+65+60+70+75/6 = 65.
Merit calculation for General Course: Merit Point = T1/4, T1 = Marks obtained in English + Best of other three subjects (excluding the marks secured in Environmental Studies/Science/Education).
Example = Merit = 60 (English marks) + 75 + 72 + 63 (Best of other three subjects) / 4 = 60+75+72+63/4 = 67.5.
