Khatra Adibasi Mahavidyalaya Bankura is established in 1979. It is General Degree with Honours college in Khatra, a hilly area near Mukutmonipur, most vibrating & solitude place under Bankura District. It offers Undergraduate Courses in Arts, Commerce & Science. It is affiliated to Bankura University. The college was established in 1979 by Govt. of West Bengal. Honorable chief minister of that time, Jyoti Basu, inaugurated this college. With the inauguration of this college, a new era in the Higher education sector began in this educationally backward belt. The college is about 3 Kilometers away from the Sub-Divisional town of Khatra & located beside the Bankura-Jhilimili Highway. Recently, Khatra Adibasi Mahavidyalaya has been re-accredited & awarded C+ grade by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC). Applicants who have passed in Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board / Council other than WBCHSE can eligible for 1st-year BA/B.Sc/B.Com (Honours/General/Major) Courses Admission. For SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled candidates category marks shall be as rules of State Govt. & University. All pass candidates are eligible to apply for the General Degree Course. Only students who have passed with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the class XII level are eligible for admission to B.Sc Honours Course in Economics. The candidates who have passed the Vocational course at 10+2 examination are eligible for admission to BA (General).
