Jhargram Raj College is established in 1949. It is one of the oldest Government College in Jhargram District. It offers Undergraduate Courses in Arts, Commerce & Science & Postgraduate Courses in some Arts & Science subjects. Earlier it was affiliated to the University of Calcutta. Now it is affiliated to Vidyasagar University. The college is situated in the small town of Jhargram in the Jhargram District. It is well communicated to the District Headquarters, Medinipur through Roadways. It can also be approached through Rail Routes. It is less than an hours journey from Kharagpur on trains. In 2007 Jhargram Raj College was awarded B++ grade by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college is also recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Educational Qualification:
Candidates who have passed in HS or equivalent examination not earlier than 2016 (i.e. passed in 2018,2017 & 2016) are eligible to apply directly. Candidates seeking admission to Honours Courses must have secured 45% in aggregate (for SC or ST candidate the minimum aggregate required is 40%), minimum 50% marks in the subject chosen as Honours (or eq’ related / alternative subject) & minimum 30% marks in the subjects chosen as General subjects.
Jhargram Raj College Part I Merit List 2021:
Admission will be done on the basis of Merit. Merit list of valid application will be published the online website of college on a date as per the published admission scheduled. The merit lists will be prepared in the descending order of merit index. For admission to Honours Courses, Merit point is to be calculated by adding 10% of the total marks obtained in the Best Five subjects & the marks obtained in the subject in which the admission in Honours course is sought. Merit point for admission to General Course is to be calculated by adding the marks obtained in Best Five subjects.
