Falakata College is established on 19 September 1981. It is General Degree College in Falakata. It is in Alipurduar District. It offers Undergraduate Courses in Arts. Students who have passed the HS (10+2) or equivalent examinations from any recognized board are eligible for getting admission in any Degree Course subject to availability of seats in the General stream. Candidates passing HS Vocational Course can apply for admission in the 1st-year General Course of BA. Students passed Patrachar / correspondence courses / Open School are not eligible for admission to the courses offered by the college.
Eligibility Criteria For Hons under the NBU 2021-22:
For General Category of Students:
a. 55% in the aggregate or
b. 50% in the aggregate & 60% in the subject.
For Reserve Category of Students:
a. 50% in the aggregate or

Merit calculation for Hons Course: Merit Point = 2S+T/6, 2S = Marks obtained in the subject opted for Hons x 2, T = English Marks + Marks obtained in the subject opted for Hons + Best Marks of only other two subjects (excluding the marks secured in Environmental Studies/Science/Education & Marks obtained in the subject opted for Hons).
Example = Merit = 2×60 (Hons subject) + 65 (English) + 60 (Hons subject) + 70 + 75 (Best two subjects) = 2×60+65+60+70+75/6 = 65.
Merit calculation for Gen Course: Merit Point = T1/4, T1 = Marks obtained in English + Best of other three subjects (excluding the marks secured in Environmental Studies/Science/Education).
Example = Merit = 60 (English marks) + 75 + 72 + 63 (Best of other three subjects) / 4 = 60+75+72+63/4 = 67.5.
