CAT Exam Date 2017 – CAT Application Form & Registration: The Indian Institutes of Management will conduct computer based Common Admission Test 2017 (CAT 2017) on Sunday, 26th November, 2017 in two sessions. CAT 2017 or Common Admission Test is the main entrance exam for MBA aspirants to get admission in various management programmes of IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta amongst many others. CAT 2017 will be conducted by IIM Lucknow. Last 2 CAT Exams in 2015 & 2016 were convened by IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore respectively.

Apart from the 20 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) located at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode, Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Shillong, Tiruchirapalli, Udaipur, Visakhapatnam, Bodh Gaya, Sirmaur, Amritsar, Sambalpur, Jammu and Nagpur, CAT 2017 is also a mandatory entrance examination for several other leading management institutes in India.
Around 2.5 lakh candidates had registered for CAT 2016. The competition among CAT aspirants is very tough for IIMs and other reputed institutes. Eligible candidates can apply online through official website www.iimcat.ac.in of CAT from 09.08.2017 to 20.09.2017. Eligibility Criteria for CAT Exam 2017
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons With Disability (PWD) categories] from any recognized University of India. If the candidates are in the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification and have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results, he/she can also apply.
Reservations
As per the legal requirements, 15% of the seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST candidates, 27% of seats for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy layer (NC-OBC), and 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).
CAT Application Form
Eligible candidates can apply only through online mode and payment also be paid by Credit Card, Debit Card or through Net Banking.
Selection Process
The selection process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). Performance in CAT 2017 examination is an important component in the admission process.
Registration Fees
All aspirants candidates should have to pay as registration fee Rs. 1800/- and Rs. 900/- for SC, ST and PWD category candidates. Please note that a Candidate needs to pay registration fee only once, irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying for. SC, ST, and PWD candidates must upload a copy of their SC/ST/PWD certificates at the time of registration. Fee once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
Test Pattern & Duration
Common Admission Test (CAT 2017) will have 3 sections this year. The no. of questions have not been mentioned in CAT 2017 notification. The following numbers are as per last year’s exam pattern:
1. Quantitative Ability (QA) – 34 questions
2. Data Interpretation & Logical reasoning (DILR) – 32 questions
3. Verbal & reading Comprehension (VRC) – 34 questions
The CAT 2017 exam duration has been increased to 180 minutes from the previous 170 minutes. All questions will not be multiple choice (MCQ) type. There will be some desprective answers which you will have to type out on the screen. The total duration of CAT Exam 2017 will be three (3) hours and total number of questions is expected to be around 100.

the dates of the Common Admission Test (CAT 2017) were released by IIM Lucknow on 30 July 2017. The test will be conducted 26th November, 2017 (Sunday). The significant change this year from last year’s exam is that CAT 2017 will be conducted in two slots on the same day. Important dates for CAT 2017 mention below.

5. CAT 2017 Result Declaration: Second week of January, 2018 (Tentative)
CAT 2017 Score Card
Candidates’ CAT 2017 score card will be made accessible at the CAT website. Candidates may also be intimated individually by SMS. The CAT results are likely to be declared by second week of January, 2018. CAT 2017 score is valid only till December 31, 2018, and will accordingly be accessible on the website. Thereafter, no queries related to the issuance of CAT 2017 score cards will be entertained.
Admission Process
Each IIM is independent to mandate their own eligibility criteria (including academic cut-offs and relative weights) and follow different selection processes. Performance in CAT 2017 examination is an important component for consideration in the selection process. IIMs may also use previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience and other similar inputs in short-listing of candidates at various stages of the selection process.

Registration Process for CAT 2017
The registration window opens on 9th August, 2017 and will close at 5:00 pm on 20th September, 2017. So interested & eligible candidates can apply online through official website www.iimcat.ac.in from 09.08.2017 to 20.09.2017.
At the time of registration, the candidates have to select any four Test Cities as per their preference from the drop down menu. After the last date of registration, candidates will be allotted one among the 4 preferred cities and either of the two sessions. In the rare case that a candidate is not allotted any of the preferred cities, he/she will be allotted a nearby city. The candidates can download the admit cards from 18th October, 2017 till 26th November, 2017.
Test Centres of CAT 2017
CAT will be conducted in centres spread across around 140 test cities. Details about the test centres in these test cities will be available on this website from 18th October, 2017 and the name of the test centre will be indicated in the Admit Card.
