📋 Educational Qualification


->> Technician Grade I Signal:

  • Degree: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Instrumentation.
  • Alternative Degree: Three-year Diploma in Engineering in any of the above disciplines.
  • Higher Degree: Four-year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in the above branches.
  • Combination: A combination of any sub-streams of these basic disciplines is also accepted.

->> Technician Grade III:

  • Basic Schooling: Matriculation, SSLC, or 10th standard pass from a recognised board.
  • Technical Certificate: National Trade Certificate (NTC) or State Trade Certificate (STC) from NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade.
  • Alternative Technical: National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the designated trade.
  • Trades Allowed: Includes Electrician, Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Welder, Carpenter, Electronic Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Wireman, and Rigger.
  • PCM Category: For specific Grade III posts (like Telecommunication), 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics is accepted instead of ITI.

Phase 1: Account Creation:

Technician Grade I Signal (Level 5)

  • Basic Pay: ₹29,200 per month
  • Estimated Gross Salary: ₹48,000 to ₹55,000 per month (includes Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Transport Allowance)

Technician Grade III (Level 2)

  • Basic Pay: ₹19,900 per month
  • Estimated Gross Salary: ₹33,000 to ₹38,000 per month (includes Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Transport Allowance)

📚 Selection Process

Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  • Mode: Online objective-type examination.

  • Total Questions: 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Cut-off Marks: Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General/EWS, 30% for OBC/SC, and 25% for ST.

Stage 2: Document Verification (DV)

  • Shortlisting: Candidates are called based on their merit score in the CBT exam.
  • Ratio: Equal to the number of available vacancies (1:1 ratio).

Stage 3: Medical Examination

  • Location: Conducted at designated Railway Hospitals.
