PUBDET 2018 Presidency University Admission Test
For 2018-19 academic sessions, the Board will conduct common entrance examination titled PUBDET 2018 for admission into various Under Graduate courses in the Presidency University. Any candidate can apply for maximum 2 (two) subjects from the following table. Eligibility Criteria for PUBDET 2018 Common Entrance Test
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board conducts Presidency University Bachelor Degree Entrance Test – PUBDET for admission to three-year B.A. /B.Sc. Honours course in the Presidency University.
Eligibility Criteria for Application
a) Citizenship: Applicants must be a citizen of India
b) There is no upper or lower age limit.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission
a) Candidates who have passed/appeared in the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 system) conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or an equivalent examination, not before 2017 are eligible to apply.
b) Candidates must pass any of the aforementioned examinations, with at least five recognized subjects (full marks not less than 100), including English language.
c)Candidates with International ‘A’ level or International Baccalaureate qualifications, must have at least three subjects at the IGCSE level and three subjects at the ‘A’ level, with English in either of the two levels.
Department/Subject wise Eligibility Criteria
Besides the minimum aggregate, as shown above, the candidate must also fulfill following special academic criteria for admission in respective courses.
>> Bengali: The candidate may apply from Arts/science stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have Bengali as one subject with 60% marks in Bengali.
>> English: The candidate may apply from Arts/Science stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have English as one subject with 65% marks in English-A or 75% in English.
>> History: The candidate has to apply from Arts Stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have History as one subject with 65% marks in History.
>> Philosophy: The candidate may apply from Arts/ science/ Commerce stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have English as one subject with 65% marks in English.
>> Political Science: The candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have English as one subject with 60% marks in English.
>> Sociology: The candidate may apply from Arts/ Science/ Commerce stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have English as one subject with 70% marks in English.
>> Hindi: The candidate may apply from Arts/ Science stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have Hindi as one subject with 60% marks in Hindi.
>> Performing Arts: Candidate may apply from Arts/ Science stream at 10+2 level. The candidate should have English as one subject with 60% marks in English.
>> Physics: The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level. The candidate must have secured 80% in Physics and 80% in Mathematics.
>> Chemistry: The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at 10+2 level. The candidate must have secured 80% in Chemistry.
>> Mathematics: The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Mathematics as one subject at 10+2 level. The candidate must have secured 80% in Mathematics.
>> Statistics: The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Mathematics as one subject at 10+2 level. The candidate must have secured 80% in Mathematics or 80% in Statistics (if Statistics is one of the subjects taken at the 10+2 level).
>> Life Science: The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Statistics and Biology at 10+2 level.
>> Economics: The candidate may apply from Arts/ Science/ Commerce stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have Mathematics (not Business Mathematics) as one subject with 70% marks in English (A/B) and 75% in Mathematics.
>> Geography: The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level. The candidate must have secured 70% in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Reservation of Seats
Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD (earlier Physically Handicapped) category of students shall be available following the guidelines:
The reservation policies of West Bengal State Higher Education Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2013 and West Bengal State Higher Education Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Rules, 2014 will be followed for admission in reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD.
Requirements in terms of Residential/Domicile Criteria – There is no particular Residential/Domicile requirements to appear in the examination.
PUBDET 2018 Exam Syllabus
The tests will be based on the 11th and 12th standard syllabi of various recognized Boards/Councils.
PUBDET 2018 Exam Pattern – Pattern of Question Papers
Question papers for the subjects English, Bengali and Hindi will be in respective languages. All other papers will be in English and Bengali languages. In every subject, all questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type, with four options against each of the questions. There will 50 (fifty) questions in each paper with full marks 100 and time allotted will be 90 minutes.

PUBDET 2018 Admit Card
Successfully applied candidates can download PUBDET 2018 Admit Card/ Call Letter from the official website of www.wbjeeb.nic.in from 02.05.2018 (tentative) by entering their Application Number, Password and Date of Birth details. After downloading the admit card, candidates need to take a print of their PUBDET admit card. Candidates will not be allowed to enter PUBDET examination hall without PUBDET 2018 Admit Card.
PUBDET 2018 Result
The final result will be published in the form of Rank Cards, which will contain all relevant ranks and total score. Rank cards will be available only from the portal www.wbjeeb.in. Candidates will be able to view and download their rank card by logging in with their password. The result will be published on 1st week of June 2018 (tentative).
PUBDET 2018 Counselling
Counselling and provisional admission will be conducted by WBJEEB. A separate notification with details of counselling/ seat allotment/ provisional admission will be published in www.wbjeeb.in shortly after the publication of result. Counselling and admission process is sequential according to rank, candidate has to appear for counselling on the specified date and time only. Admission will be closed tentatively by 15.09.2018.
PUBDET 2018 Application Form
Candidates need to fill PUBDET application form online on the official website of the exam. Candidates must fill their Application Form very carefully. After submitted application form candidates will not able to make any changes to them. Aspirants candidates can fill their application form through online from 06.02.2018 to 28.02.2018.
PUBDET Application Fee
candidates should have to pay the application fee of Rs. 500/- for PUBDET exam 2018 through Net Banking/Debit Card/ Credit Card.

> Candidate has to input name, date of birth, gender, mobile no. and e-mail id. Candidate should fill their application form very carefully. If mistakes are committed, there is no chance of correction.
> The mobile no and e-mail id entered will be used for all subsequent communication. Candidates also have to choose a log-in ID and password and remember them, which he/she will use for future log-in.
> PUBDET candidates have to first choose group-A or Group-B of subjects and then choose maximum two subjects from his/her choice of group.
> Uploading Photograph & Signature – To successfully register for PUBDET exam, candidates need to upload their recent scanned photograph, signature.

> Payment of Examination Fees
After uploading of images candidates will be directed automatically to the fee-payment step. Candidates will have to pay the exam fee online (by Net Banking/Debit/Credit Cards) or Offline (by e-challan). The amount of fees to be paid for appearing in the PUBDET-2018 is Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) plus the Bank’s Service Charges as applicable.
On successful completion of all the above steps, candidate shall automatically be directed to the option for downloading the Confirmation page which means that the application is complete.
