MAT Exam 2017 – Eligibility, Exam Date & Application Form: AIMA has invited applications for Management Aptitude Test 2017. The notification for AIMA MAT Management Aptitude Test (December) 2017 has been issued. The Application Process for Management Aptitude Test (MAT) December 2017 will begin from the 2nd week of October 2017. MAT 2017 application form can be filled in both online & offline mode. The registration will start from 2nd week of October 2017 onwards and the last date for Online Registration is 24th November 2017.
The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is an all-India level entrance examination for admission into Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Postgraduate (PG) diploma programs offered by different institutes in India and abroad. The Centre for Management Services (CMS) of the All India Management Association (AIMA) has been conducting the MAT since 1988. About Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardized test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003. Any B-School – national or international – can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates. The largest test of its kind in the nation, MAT will continue to be your passport to over 600 B-Schools across India.
Eligibility Criteria for MAT Exam December 2017
Candidates should have passed Graduate in any discipline are eligible to apply for MAT 2017. The final year students of Graduate Courses are eligible to apply. Candidates should have minimum 50% marks in Graduation (45% for SC/ST/OBC categories).
Students appearing for MAT are not bound by any age limit or limit on the number of attempts.
Mode of MAT Test December 2017
Candidates can choose any one of the two options to take the test:
1. MAT Online/Computer Based Test (CBT) : 09th December 2017
OR 2. MAT Paper Based Test (PBT): 03rd December 2017 at 10.00 am – 12.30 pm
If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is limited and can be accommodated in a single day; the test will be completed on 09 December 2017 itself.
MAT Application Form For December 2017
The online registration for the MAT Exam December 2017 will start from 2nd week of October 2017 onwards and the last date for Online Registration is 24th November 2017. Candidates have the option of either completing the registration process online or taking a printout of the form available on the official website.
Application Fee: Candidates should have to pay Rs. 1652/- (Inclusive of GST) through Credit Card/Debit Card/ Net Banking payment.
MAT Exam Pattern
The overall structure of the MAT exam remained the same as that of the previous years, with 5 sections of 40 questions each, 4 options and a negative marking of 1/4th of the marks allotted for wrong answers. Most of the questions varied from easy to moderate.

MAT Exam Syllabus
There are 5 different sections that make up the MAT Exam Paper, each of which has 40 Questions under it. These are:
Section I-Language Comprehension
The MAT syllabus for language comprehension involves testing on basic English Grammar (Verbal Ability & Verbal Reasoning), Comprehension, Sentence Phrasing and Essay writing.
Section II-Intelligence & Critical Reasoning
As usual, this section included a mixture of Verbal Reasoning & Logical Reasoning, Logical Thinking, Social Human Relationships, Cause & Effect, Statements and Conclusions, Assumption-premise-conclusion etc. are all tested in this section.
Section III-Mathematical Skills
This section was dominated by Arithmetic questions. MAT tests basic mathematical concepts like LCM, HCF, Binary Functions, Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra etc.
Section IV-Data Analysis and Sufficiency
This section consisted of Data interpretation involves statistics, Trends, and Data in the form of Graphs, Pie Charts, Bar Graphs, Diagrams etc.
Section V-Indian and Global Environment
This section tests candidates on Social Contemporary Happenings, Business Analytics, World Records, Current Affairs, the effect of Global Events on India etc.
MAT Admit Card December 2017
All provisionally registered candidates both for Paper Based and Computer Based Test can download their Admit Card from AIMA website link: apps.aima.in/matadmitcard.aspx on or after 25 November 2017 (Saturday). Specific Admit Card is generated both for the candidates opted for the Paper Based Test and for the Computer Based Test. MAT Admit Card contains Candidate’s Name, Form No, Roll No, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. The candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to him/her in the case of Computer Based Test.
