English(01), Bengali(02), Sanskrit(03), Hindi(04), Urdu(05), Commerce(06), Economics(07), History(08), Philosophy(09), Political Science(10), Education(11), Chemical Sciences(12), Geography(13), Life Sciences(14), Mathematical Sciences(15), Physical Sciences(16), Sociology(17), Psychology(18), Library & Information Science(19), Physical Education(20), Electronic Science(21), Computer Science and Applications(22), Home Science(23), Santhali (24), Mass Communication & Journalism(25), Anthropology(26), Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean & Planetary Sciences(27), Music(28), Law(29) and Nepali(30).
Note:
1. Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only.
2. For Mathematical Sciences, candidates having Master’s degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics or Statistics are eligible.
3. For Life Sciences, candidates having Master’s Degree in Biological Science, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Bio-Chemistry, Biotechnology, Physiology and other related subjects are eligible.
4. For Library Science, candidates having M.Lib./M.LIS. degree are eligible.
5. For Physical Education, candidates having M.P.Ed. degree are eligible.
Eligibility Criteria for WBCSC SET Exam 2019
Educational Qualification:
1. Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC in a relevant subject are eligible for this Test. For Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/ SC/ ST/ PWD candidates should have at least 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.
2. The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing at the SET. However, for the purpose of recruitment, the relevant Government Order will be applicable.
Fees & Mode of Payment: Fees Rs.1000/- for General candidates or Rs.500/- for SC/ ST/ OBC(Non-creamy layer)/ PWD Candidates. The candidates may pay the examination fee either by credit card/ debit card/ internet banking or through e-challan generated during the online submission of the application form. In a case of e-challan, the payment should be made at any Branch of the United Bank of India in India (Bank Charges Rs.40/- plus the service tax as applicable). In case the examination fee is paid through credit card/ debit card/ internet banking the additional processing charges as following will also be debited from the credit card /debit card/ bank account of the candidate.
Credit card: 1.20% of the examination fee plus the service tax as applicable.
Debit Card: 0.75% of the examination fee plus the service tax as applicable.
Internet Banking: Rs. 10/- per transaction plus the service tax as applicable.
Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
WBCSC SET Examination Scheme 2019
The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on 3rd December 2017 in three separate sessions as under:
Paper-I (100 marks): Duration 1 Hour (09.30 A.M. to 10.30 A.M.)
Paper-II (200 marks): Duration 2 Hours (11.00 A.M. to 01.00 P.M.)
WBCSC SET Exam Syllabus 2019
The details information about West Bengal College Service Commission Twenty-First State Eligibility Test (SET) examination syllabus is mention below.
Paper-I: This paper shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Sixty (60) multiple-choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.
Paper-II: This paper shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
Syllabus: All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering the entire syllabus for the subject concerned. Syllabi for all SET subjects can be downloaded from the WBCSC web portal www.wbcsconline.in and are at par with the relevant NET syllabus. WBCSC will not send the syllabus to an individual candidate. The candidates will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper– I, Paper-II and Paper-III on the OMR sheet provided along with the Test Booklet.
