About Jadavpur Kolkata University:
Jadavpur University is a public State University located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. In 1910 the Society for the Promotion of Technical Education in Bengal which looked after Bengal Technical Institute (which later became College of Engineering and Technology, Bengal) was amalgamated to NCE. NCE henceforth looked after the College of Engineering and Technology, Bengal which by 1940 was virtually functioning as a University. After Independence, the Government of West Bengal, with the concurrence of the Govt. of India, enacted the necessary legislation to establish Jadavpur University on the 24th of December 1955. Now Jadavpur University has successfully established itself as a foremost Indian University with a vast repertoire of courses offered, an enviable list of faculty members and has come to be known for its commitment towards advanced study and research.

B.A Honors: Bengali, Comparative Literature, Economics, Education, English, Film Studies, History, International Relations, Library & Information Science, Philosophy, Physical Education, Sanskrit & Sociology.
B.Sc Honors: Chemistry, Geography, Geological Science, Instrumentation Science, Life Science & Biotechnology, Mathematics, and Physics.
Educational Qualification:
For B.A Honors: Candidates having passed 10+2 Examination from any recognized Board in Arts & must have at least 60% in aggregate with 60% in Bengali, first & second languages, 70% in aggregate with 75% marks in Mathematics, English History, 65% in aggregate for Political Science and Sanskrit and 50% in aggregate for Philosophy honors.
For B.Sc Honors: Candidates having passed 10+2 Examination from any recognized Board in Science with Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and securing at least 70% marks in average obtained in Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics are eligible. In the case of OBC-A / OBC-B category, the minimum requirement of marks is 63% in average obtained in the above mentioned three(3) subjects and for SC / ST / PD / Sports category, the minimum requirement of marks is 52.5% in average obtained in the above mentioned three(3) subjects. About Merit List:
Merit list for admission to various undergraduate courses will be made based on the results of 10+2 or equivalent examination.
Application Fee:
Candidates should have to pay Rs.150/- as application fees through SBI I-Collect System (using Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card) will be update soon. After payment through online please print the e-receipt for further reference.
Reservation of Seats / Intake Seat Capacity:
The reservation criteria will apply only to those candidates domiciled in the State of West Bengal and it will be based on the policy followed by the state Government rules. A person with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD category under PWD and the candidates who will be provisionally selected under the OBC-A & OBC-B categories must produce an OBC certificate at the time of counseling/admission, whose date of issue should not be earlier than June 2015.
