About Maulana Azad College Kolkata:
Maulana Azad College is a government-administered liberal arts college, located in central Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is located near the junction of Rafi Ahmed Kidwari Road and SN Banerjee Road, popularly called “Lotus crossing”. It is affiliated with the University of Calcutta. The college offers both postgraduate and undergraduate courses in a number of subjects in the three streams of Arts, Science and Commerce. However, the Arts stream is the largest in terms of the number of students in both the Honors and General courses. Both male and female students study in the college. It is accreditated A grade by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC). Maulana Azad College was founded on 9 December 1926 by Victor Bulwer-Lytton, 2nd Earl of Lytton, then Governor of Bengal. It was originally called Islamia College. The institution was the culmination of efforts of notable Muslim leaders like A.K. Fazlul Huq, M.Nishat Anwar Chowdhury the Great, Syed Nawad Ali Choudhury & Sir Abdul Rahim.

Educational Qualification:
For BA Honors – Candidates should have minimum 50% marks in aggregate with 50% marks in the subjects OR 55% marks in the subject. For B.Sc Honors – 55% marks in aggregate with 60% marks in the subjects OR 60% marks in aggregate with 60% marks in the subject. For SC/ST candidates must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
Application Fee:
Candidates should have to pay an application fee of Rs.110/- (including Rs.20/- as Bank Service Charge) for each application through online.
